i’m sitting at a lonesome table for two at the sidewalk cafe; venice, california. lizzy and rob grant bewitch the cutting air, an enchanting father daughter duo. i saw lizzy with my own father. my father is a man that is gentle, intelligent, warming, and sensitive, and i love him to no end. i credit my mother for picking such a good man to father my sister and i; she couldn’t have chosen better. i am lucky. i know i am. my father has been reliable before i was a thought, and he continues to be. when we saw lizzy together, i was able to share the artist who helped shape my being with my old man, where he saw me through a different lens for the hallowed hour that she performed, and for that i am grateful.
